Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is opening the doors of the National Training Centre to the public, in conjunction with the 1st Annual International Assistance Dog Week. Assistance dogs transform the lives of their human partners with physical disabilities by serving as their devoted companion, helper, aide, best friend and close member of the family.
International Assistance Dog Weekwas created to recognize all the devoted, hardworking assistance dogs helping individuals mitigate their disability related limitations. In addition to honouring assistance dogs during their special week, one of the goals is to raise awareness about these very special and highly trained animals.
Admission and parking for this child-friendly event is free – donations are appreciated.
